· Celebrate...FOUNDERS’ DAY! February 17. Founders’ Day is a celebration of our roots in child advocacy and honor those who have gone before us and reflect on why we are PTA leaders. Plan for a special Founders’ Day program in February and involve your entire school and community. · Celebrate...Membership! Plan a yearlong membership campaign and encourage family members to turn to PTA for parenting information and inspiration. Council challenges all Knox County PTA and PTSA units to have 100% membership (one member for every child enrolled), 100% teacher membership, and council’s challenge of +35. Obtain your goals, meet council’s challenges and celebrate! · Celebrate...Success! Council hosts three annual events that allow PTA leaders, students, and volunteers to have a little fun, share a good meal and be recognized for successes. We invite you to join us in celebration at each of these events. As you are planning your year, please include funds for attending these events in your budget. · Celebrate Teachers and Volunteers! Whether your PTA hosts Teacher Appreciation events frequently or only one week out of the year, it is important to develop positive relationships with our Principal, teachers, and administrative staff. You should also work with your Principal to plan a Volunteer Appreciation event, whether it be once a month or once a year. It is important to thank your teachers and your volunteers during the year. |
