REFLECTIONS PROGRAM: 2009-2010 Theme: “Beauty Is” The Reflections Program provides varied opportunities for students to express themselves through the arts; literature, visual arts, music, photography and now, film/video. The Reflections Program gives children the opportunity to not only be recognized at their school, but on the county, state and national level. The Tennessee PTA provides each president with a handbook for conducting the Reflections Program sponsored by the National PTA. To enter the Knox County competition, entries must be submitted to Knox Co. Council PTA on or before the designated deadline date and time of December 3 by 6:30 p.m. (Snowflakes and Packages Event Night) |

SAFETY POSTER CONTEST: 2009-2010 Themes: “Network the SMART Way” for grades K-5 “My Cyber World Is Safe Because” for grades 6-12 This broad based topic can stretch the imagination of a child into all areas of safety...in school or at home. Guidelines and entry forms are available in the council and state handbooks that each president receives at the beginning of the school year. To enter the Knox County competition, entries must be submitted to Knox Co. CITIZENSHIP ART AND LITERATURE CONTEST: 2009-2010 Theme: “We Have Freedom Because…” The Citizenship Literature competition promotes and encourage good citizenship and patriotism in our community. Guidelines and entry forms are available in the council and state handbooks that each president receives at the beginning of the school year. To enter the Knox County competition, entries must be submitted to Knox Co. FOR STUDENTS OF PTA and PTSA SCHOOLS!!! We encourage all PTA/PTSAs to promote these contests within their schools. Knox County Council PTA hosts a Student Awards Banquet in March to recognize the winners on the council level. The Tennessee PTA also holds a reception and ceremony for the state winners. Check your council and state guidebooks for details. TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY/ALL AWARDS AND FOR STUDENTS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY/ALL CONTESTS, LOCAL UNITS MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING. ALL MEMBERSHIP REPORTING DEADLINES MUST BE MET. |
