Who We Are |
Knox County PTA/PTSA leaders and members are always welcome at any Council sponsored event. Knox County Council PTA has a long tradition of 1) hosting monthly General meetings to provide opportunities for PTA/PTSA leaders and members to learn about issues and share ideas, 2) coordinating countywide Student Enrichments Contests, and 3) supporting ongoing and periodic Community Service Projects. We hope you will make plans to PARTICIPATE!
As a PTA/PTSA leader, you understand the power of association to address issues that affect all children in our community. Encourage your PTA/PTSA members to know more and do more. Participate in Council General meetings, attend Board of Education meetings and County Commission meetings, call or email your local and state representatives ADVOCATE!
In addition to monthly General meetings, Council is working with Knox County Schools to host a series of Council Roundtables. These Roundtable discussions will allow PTA/PTSA focus groups to meet with school administrators to discuss education issues. More details will be available at the General meetings. |
The Knox County Council PTA organizes the Knox County PTAs and PTSAs under the authority of the Tennessee PTA and the National PTA for the purpose of providing inspiration, information, and leadership training for all local PTA and PTSA schools. |
The Knox County Council PTA serves as a medium through which the local PTA and PTSA units can unite together to attack problems beyond the scope of a single unit working alone. Organized into a council, a group of units can bring the power of united planning and effort to bear on solutions of community-wide problems affecting children and youth. |
